1. Castle of Chenonceau (11 km)
Close to the campsite, you can even cycle there. Called “Château des Dames”, the feminine details are everywhere in this magnificent private castle.
2. Castle of Chambord (45 km)
The not-to-be-missed Château de Chambord with its extraordinary architecture imagined for the glory of François I, where the spirit of *Leonardo da Vinci still floats.
3. Château de Cheverny (30 km)
The Château Moulinsart in the adventures of Tintin is directly inspired by the Château de Cheverny. This hunting castle is beautifully decorated and furnished. The park is splendid, especially when the 250,000 tulip bulbs are in bloom. We highly recommend the tour by cart.
4. Blois Castle (35 km)
With its magnificent staircase which, beyond its functional aspect, has become a major aesthetic asset. In July and August, you can enjoy a splendid sound and light show in the evening.
5. Royal Castle of Amboise (19 km)
Palace of the kings of France during the Renaissance, the royal castle of Amboise also offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Loire Valley. Take the opportunity to also visit Le Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci’s personal residence.
6. Castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire (19 km)
We fell in love with this castle in large part because of its magnificent exteriors and garden festival.
7. Villandry Castle (60 km)
A little further west of Tours, another must see, Villandry is internationally known for its extensive and picture perfect gardens.
8. Castle of Beauregard (30 km)
Owned by the Moulin and Cathiard families since 2014, Château Beauregard has been reborn around its primary function: the production of a great Pomerol wine.
9. Montrésor Castle (23 km)
The whole family will love this cosy, very well furnished castle with a breathtaking view over the valley and a walk around the ramparts and the river.
10. Castle of Montpoupon (10 km)
A very beautiful castle, less well known but original in its approach, just a stone’s throw from the campsite. For the curious and open-minded, the veneur museum brings down a lot of preconceived ideas about hunting.
